Pilates

Pilates, a method of exercise and physical movement designed to stretch, strengthen and balance the body. Pilates focuses on core stabilization to build a strong and well aligned trunk and spine, abdominal strength for increased low back support, muscle length for a longer lean look and breath work for increased vitality and energy.  Pilates has proven itself invaluable not only as a fitness endeavor itself, but also as an important adjunct to professional sports training and physical rehabilitation of all kinds. 

Free introduction sessions are prerequisites to review safety, body positioning while performing exercises, breathing patterns and your medical history before before attending regular Pilates classes.  Pilates classes will be held on Wednesday mornings at 9:30am, Tuesday evenings at 6:30pm and Saturday mornings at 8:30am.   

The next Free Intro Class - Date to be announced

Class size will be limited to 8.  A package of 5 consecutive classes will be $70 or a package of 10 classes will $130.  Private and semi-private instruction is available for $70 per hour.   If you have previous Pilates experience you may not need the intro class ~ please speak with the instructor.

Tone and Sculpt with Circuit Training

 Weekly classes ~   

Tuesdays 5:15pm

Wednesdays 5:45pm

This popular 60 minute class will tone and shape every major muscle group in your body.  Using hand weights and various simple athletic moves, you will be able to get the definition you are looking for.  This class is a must for any fitness regime!

Michele Sellberg is certified in Weight training, Kick boxing, Yoga-Pilates and Spinning. She is also a certified personal trainer who is available for private training.

Gentle Yoga - 
Ideal for both beginning students and more advanced students desiring a gentler, more restorative yoga practice. Emphasis is placed on improving flexibility, increasing energy, revitalizing your body and reducing stress. Classes end with a few minutes of relaxation.
 

 Pre-registration is required for all classes.

Liz Bohmier has Masters in Social Work from UCONN and her B.A. in Psychology and Theater.  Her Yoga Teacher's Certification is from Lotus Gardens in Sherman, CT. She is a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) through the Yoga Alliance. Nancy Slyman, RYT, is a 200 hour certified Kripalu Yoga Teacher, insured, and registered member of Yoga-Alliance.  Her mixed level classes involve modifications, guided breath, stretching, balancing and strengthening.  A slow, steady pace keeps focus on alignment.  Postures flow from one to the next creating interplay of body and mind.  Detailed guidance into the postures make these classes beginner friendly along with modifications offering a challenge for the more advanced student.

 Fat Burning Boot Camp With Nicole at CourtSide Sports Center!!!!

    What is  Fat Burning Boot Camp?

30 minute metabolic resistance training and body weight workouts designed to increase your metabolism.  We start will a full body warm up to prepare the body for exercise.  From there, we break into a total body circuit that consists of five exercises powered by an audio interval music sound track.  The audio interval sound track dictates when you should rotate to the next exercise, there is no rep counting!  After the circuit, we end the workout with an AB or body weight cardio burn then we cool down and stretch.

Understanding Microdermabrasion and Skin Care for Adults   ~  Date TBA

If your skin is dry, blemished, dull, sun damaged, has uneven skin tone and texture, large pores, spider veins or other skin imperfections, we welcome you to join us and discover how the combination of Microdermabrasion, Vacuum Sculpting Massage and Light Therapy can treat these issues and leave you with healthy revitalized skin.  Topics to include: What is Microdermabrasion?  How does it work?  What does it do? What type of skin can benefit?  Who are the best candidates?  Are there any side effects?  Which version of Light Therapy, blue light or infrared, would work best for your for your skin issues?  Three members of each class will be chosen to receive treatments during the class.

Couples Massage Training Class

This is a private, hands-on training class for any two people. Learn to safely give massage to relieve back and shoulder discomfort.  Techniques for hands, feet and face can also be taught.  This class is 1.5 hours and is scheduled at your convenience.  $115/couple
